JOB DESCRIPTION: On-the-Job Trainer

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to and functions under the direction and supervision of the Retail Operations Training Manager/Recruiter.

PURPOSE: Conducts Company on-the-job training programs for store employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year Dunkin’ retail operations or related experience required.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to instruct on and follow the proper safety and sanitary precautions.
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels of management and employees.
  • Good judgment and reasoning ability.
  • Strong MS Office skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to and coordinates training schedules with hiring and training demands of the retail locations.
  • Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, new product training, etc., in accordance with the requirements set forth by Dunkin' Brands, Watermark Donut Company, and federal, state and local health and safety requirements.
  • Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
  • Assists employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their position.
  • Makes suggestions on improving work procedures.
  • Performs other duties, as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee employees in the retail operations training environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a retail store environment with light physical demands and normal exposure to everyday risks and discomfort requiring common safety precautions. Work requires a range of physical motions including, but not limited to, reaching, stooping, bending, lifting, crouching to accomplish assigned tasks and provide customer service. Work requires prolonged periods of standing and walking and an ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Beverage brewing and heating equipment, other hot tools and equipment, and knives present a risk of burns and cuts. Otherwise, work is performed in an office type environment with little physical demands and minimal exposure to risk and discomfort.
